Chronologie
2014 — 2024
2014

Chapter 1: The Vision

The journey began in the historic heart of Dinan, where the CRIHC was founded. Our initial vision focused on preserving the ancient resonance of the Celtic harp while providing a modern stage for its evolution. We established the core mission of strengthening cultural exchange through the strings of tradition.

2015

The Birth of Ti an Delenn

We inaugurated Ti an Delenn, a dedicated cultural hub designed to serve as a sanctuary for musicians. This permanent home allowed us to host year-round workshops and intimate performances, anchoring our presence within the local community and providing a space for artistic growth.

2016

Chapter 2: Establishing Heritage

The committee formalized its structure, launching the first major edition of the Rencontres Internationales de Harpes Celtiques under the CRIHC banner. This milestone solidified Dinan's reputation as a vital center for traditional music, attracting performers from across the Celtic world.

2017

Educational Outreach

Expansion into educational programs brought the harp into local schools. By integrating traditional music into the curriculum, we ensured that the heritage of the instrument was shared with the youth of Brittany, sparking interest in the next generation of cultural keepers.

2018

Chapter 3: Global Expansion

Our horizons broadened as we invited harpists from South America and Asia, exploring the universal language of plucked strings. This global dialogue enriched our festival's diversity, proving that the harp's heritage is a shared human treasure that transcends borders and languages.

2019

International Partnerships

We established formal alliances with prestigious harp festivals in Ireland and Wales. These partnerships facilitated artist exchanges and collaborative research into ancient harp techniques, strengthening the cultural bridge between the various Celtic nations and their musical traditions.

2020

Chapter 4: Digital Resilience

In response to global challenges, we pivoted to digital platforms. We launched virtual masterclasses and online concert series, ensuring that the music never stopped. This innovation allowed us to reach a global audience of enthusiasts who could not travel to Dinan.

2021

Archival Preservation

We launched a major project to digitize rare harp scores and recordings from our archives. This initiative ensures that the unique arrangements and historical performances of the Rencontres are preserved for future musicologists and performers, safeguarding our intangible heritage.

2022

Chapter 5: The Future

The festival returned to the streets of Dinan with record-breaking attendance. We introduced new talent residencies at Ti an Delenn, providing emerging harpists with the resources and mentorship needed to develop groundbreaking contemporary works rooted in tradition.

2023

Cultural Heritage Recognition

CRIHC was honored for its sustained contribution to Breton culture. This recognition validated nearly a decade of dedicated work in building an inclusive, culturally enriched community where the harp serves as a symbol of unity and artistic excellence.

2024

A Decade of Harmony

Celebrating ten years of the modern CRIHC era. We remain committed to our founding promise of sharing the heritage of Celtic and traditional harps. As we look forward, our mission continues to grow, nurturing talent and expanding community access to diverse art.
